What the Integration Does
When a caller asks for an appointment, Safina does not just take a note. It checks your actual availability in Google Calendar, proposes a time slot, confirms with the caller, and creates the event, all within the same phone call.
Real-Time Availability Check
Safina reads your Google Calendar during the conversation. If a caller asks for Tuesday at 10 AM, Safina knows within seconds whether that slot is open. If it is not, Safina suggests the next available time. No guessing, no “I’ll check and call you back.”
Instant Booking
Once the caller confirms a time, Safina creates a Google Calendar event immediately. The event includes the caller’s name, phone number, and a brief note about the reason for the appointment.
SMS Confirmation
After booking, Safina sends the caller an SMS with the appointment details: date, time, and your business name. The caller has a written confirmation without you lifting a finger.
Double-Booking Prevention
Because Safina checks your live calendar, it will never book two appointments in the same slot. If you block time for lunch or personal tasks, Safina respects those blocks. Your calendar stays clean.
Setup in 4 Steps
1. Connect Google Calendar
Open the Safina app, go to Settings > Integrations, and tap “Connect Google Calendar.” You will be redirected to Google to authorize access.
2. Select Your Calendar
Choose which calendar Safina should use for availability checks and bookings. If you have multiple calendars (work, personal, shared), pick the one that reflects your appointment schedule.
3. Set Booking Preferences
Define your appointment parameters: minimum lead time (e.g., no same-day bookings), appointment duration (30 or 60 minutes), available days and hours, and buffer time between appointments.
4. Done
Safina is now connected. The next caller who asks for an appointment will get a real-time booking experience.
Total setup time: Under 3 minutes.
Use Cases
Medical Practice
A patient calls to schedule a follow-up. Your front desk is busy with check-ins. Safina answers, checks the doctor’s calendar, and books the next available slot. The patient gets an SMS confirmation immediately. No hold music, no callback needed. Works for general practitioners, dentists, physiotherapists, and specialists.
Car Workshop
A customer calls about an MOT inspection. You are under a car on the lift. Safina captures the vehicle type and service needed, checks your calendar, and books a 60-minute inspection slot. The caller knows exactly when to bring in their car.
Salon and Beauty
Clients call to book haircuts, color treatments, or nail appointments. Safina handles the scheduling while your stylists focus on the clients already in the chair. Multiple appointment types with different durations are supported.
Trades and Home Services
A homeowner calls about a leaking pipe. Safina books an inspection slot on your next available day and sends the address confirmation via SMS. You arrive prepared with the caller’s description of the issue. Ideal for electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and general contractors.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Safina need access to all my calendars?
No. During setup, you choose exactly which calendar Safina reads and writes to. If you have separate personal and work calendars, you can connect only the work calendar. Safina will never see or modify calendars you have not authorized.
Can Safina handle different appointment types with different durations?
Yes. You can configure multiple appointment types. A 30-minute consultation and a 60-minute initial meeting can coexist. Safina selects the correct duration based on the conversation context.
What happens if a caller wants a time that is already taken?
Safina tells the caller that the requested slot is not available and suggests the next open time. If none of the alternatives work, Safina captures the caller’s preferred timeframe and notes it for your manual follow-up.
Does the caller get a calendar invite?
The caller receives an SMS with the appointment details. A Google Calendar invite is sent to your calendar. If you want to send a calendar invite to the caller by email, you can configure that in your Google Calendar settings.
Can I set blackout periods or working hours?
Yes. In Safina’s booking preferences, you define which days and hours are available for appointments. You can also set minimum lead times and buffer times between appointments. Any blocked time on your Google Calendar is automatically respected.
