Why Salesforce + Safina?
Salesforce is the most widely used CRM platform in the world. Millions of sales and support teams track their leads, contacts, and deals there. But phone calls, especially the ones you miss, often fall outside that system. Someone calls while you are in a meeting. The call goes to voicemail. The message does not make it into Salesforce. And the lead goes cold.
The Safina and Salesforce integration will close that gap. Every call Safina handles will feed directly into Salesforce, creating leads, logging activities, and triggering workflows without any manual data entry.
This integration is currently in development. Below is what it will enable and how setup will work when it launches.
What the Integration Will Do
Automatic lead creation
When Safina answers a call from a number that does not match an existing Salesforce contact, a new lead is created. The lead record includes the caller’s name, phone number, reason for calling, urgency level, and the full call summary. Your sales team sees the lead in their queue without anyone typing a thing.
Activity logging on existing records
For callers who already exist in Salesforce, the call summary is logged as an activity on their contact or lead record. Your team can open any record and see the complete history of phone interactions, including calls they were not present for.
Task creation for follow-ups
Not every call needs immediate action, but some do. When Safina flags a call as high urgency or when the caller specifically requests a callback, the integration can create a task in Salesforce and assign it to the appropriate team member.
Workflow triggers
Salesforce Flow and Process Builder can react to data coming in from Safina. A new lead from a call could trigger an automatic welcome email. A callback request could start a time-based workflow that escalates if the call is not returned within two hours.
How Setup Will Work
Step 1: Connect Your Salesforce Account
In the Safina app, go to Settings and navigate to Integrations. Select Salesforce and authenticate with your Salesforce credentials. Safina will request permission to create and update records in your Salesforce org.
Step 2: Map Call Data Fields
Safina captures structured data from every call: caller name, phone number, call duration, summary, urgency, and more. You will map these fields to the corresponding fields in Salesforce. For example, “caller name” maps to “Lead Name,” “reason for calling” maps to a custom field or the description.
Step 3: Choose Trigger Events
Select which Safina events create actions in Salesforce. Options will include:
- Call ended: Log every call as an activity
- New caller detected: Create a lead for unknown numbers
- High urgency flagged: Create a task for follow-up
- Callback requested: Create a task with a due date
Step 4: Test with a Sample Call
Before going live, run a test call. Safina sends sample data to Salesforce so you can verify that leads, activities, and tasks appear correctly. Adjust the field mapping if needed.
Use Case Examples
A law firm capturing potential clients
A potential client calls the firm after hours. Safina answers, captures the caller’s name, the nature of their legal issue, and their preferred callback time. The integration creates a lead in Salesforce tagged with the practice area (family law, personal injury, etc.) and assigns a follow-up task to the intake coordinator for the next morning.
A B2B sales team tracking inbound interest
A prospect calls after seeing a demo on the company website. Safina captures the company name, the caller’s role, and what features they are interested in. A lead is created in Salesforce with all this detail, and the round-robin assignment rule routes it to the next available rep.
A property management company logging tenant calls
A tenant calls about a maintenance issue. Safina captures the address, the issue description, and the urgency. The call is logged on the tenant’s contact record in Salesforce, and a case is created for the maintenance team.
Currently Available Alternatives
While the native Salesforce integration is in development, you can connect Safina to Salesforce today using:
- Zapier: Create a Zap that triggers when Safina sends a webhook. The Zapier Salesforce connector can create leads, log activities, and update records.
- Make: Build a scenario that receives Safina webhook data and pushes it to Salesforce. Make offers more complex logic than Zapier for multi-step workflows.
- Webhooks: If you have a developer on your team, use Safina’s webhook events to call the Salesforce REST API directly.
These workarounds give you the same end result. The native integration will simplify setup and remove the need for a third-party automation tool.
