Your Safina number comes with a country code that you pick during setup. For some countries you get your number instantly. For others we can get you a number, but we need your help, because the local authorities require a registration with supporting documents. This page shows you which country codes are currently possible and what to expect in each case.

Instantly available or on request – what’s the difference?

Instantly available means: you pick the country during setup and your number is assigned right away. You don’t have to prove anything or upload anything.

On request means: we can get you a number in this country, but we’re not allowed to just hand it out. The country’s regulators require the number to be registered to you – with details about you or your business and usually with documents as proof. Only once that review is complete does the number go live.

These country codes are available instantly

These country codes are available on request

Two columns matter here. “Address in the country required?” means: if it says “Yes”, you need a real address in that country, otherwise you won’t get the number. “Surcharge” means: in these countries numbers cost us considerably more than elsewhere, so a monthly surcharge is added to your plan. We’ll tell you how much before you order – you never order something without knowing the price.

The country code doesn’t depend on your plan: every plan from Basic upwards can have a number in another country. So you don’t have to move to Pro or Business just to get a foreign country code. If a surcharge applies to your country, it comes on top of your plan.

As of August 2026. We keep expanding this list – the selection in the app always reflects the current state.

How a request works

  1. Pick the country in the app: while setting up your Safina number, you select the country code you want.
  2. Check the requirements: the app then shows you which details and which documents your country requires. At the top you can switch between individual and business, because the requirements differ. So you see the list before you submit anything.
  3. Submit your documents: you send the request in the app, we get in touch and collect the documents. If a surcharge applies, we’ll name it at this point.
  4. Review: our telephony partner submits the documents to the responsible authority and has them reviewed.
  5. Activation: once the review is complete, your number goes live and appears in your app.

How long the review takes varies from country to country and is out of our hands. We’ll keep you posted throughout your request.

What documents are typically required

Each country decides for itself what exactly is needed. It almost always comes down to two things: proof of identity (who you or your business are) and proof of address (where you’re based). The exact list for your country is in the app as soon as you’ve picked the country – you don’t have to look it up here.

An example, France:

  • As an individual or sole trader: first and last name, a photo ID (national ID, passport or residence permit) and a proof of address in France – such as a utility bill, tax notice, rent receipt or title deed.
  • As a business: a business register excerpt and a proof of address for the business address in France. A PO box is not accepted as an address.

The most important rule: the address must be in the country

In most countries the authorities require an address in that exact country. Without an address in France there is no French number – neither we nor our telephony partner can change that. In some countries, for example Belgium, Italy, Poland and Spain, the address even has to be in the region the prefix belongs to.

If you don’t have an address in the country you want, that is unfortunately a dealbreaker. In that case, consider whether an instantly available number works for you – your callers can reach you regardless of the country code.

Why some countries carry a surcharge

We buy the numbers from our telephony partner. In most countries a number costs roughly the same there, and that amount is already included in your plan. In some countries, however, the purchase price is several times higher, or the number has to be sourced individually because it isn’t openly available. We pass on that difference as a monthly surcharge instead of spreading it across all plans. As a rule this is a few euros a month, not a large amount. We’ll tell you the exact figure for your country when you submit your request.

If your country can’t be selected in the app right now

The selection in the app can change. There are two possible reasons:

  • There are no numbers available at the moment. We source our numbers from our telephony partner, and their stock fluctuates. So we can’t guarantee that numbers are available in every country at all times.
  • We’ve temporarily disabled the country. We do that when the fees for a country suddenly rise sharply, so that nobody books a number and is caught out by the cost afterwards.

In both cases it’s worth a quick message to our support team. We’ll check for you whether something can be arranged after all, and tell you what it would cost.

Your country isn’t listed at all?

Tell our support team which country code you need. We’ll check whether and under which conditions we can offer numbers there. Your request also helps us decide which countries to enable next.

Hello, this is Safina AI, Peter's digital assistant. How can I help you?

Hi Safina, this is Emma Martin. I wanted to discuss the offer and the timeline.

Thanks, Emma. Are you mainly deciding between the Standard and Pro package for the launch?

Exactly. We need the Pro package and would like to start next month if onboarding is possible in week one.
