The AVM Fritz!Box is the most popular router in Germany and is known for its diverse and precise configuration options. If you own a Fritz!Box, you have full control over how and when calls are forwarded to your Safina assistant.

This guide will take you through the two most common methods: the convenient setup via the web interface and the quick configuration via dial code.

Primary Method: Setup via the Web Interface

This is the graphical and most commonly used way. It offers you the most configuration options.

Step 1: Log into Your Fritz!Box

Open a web browser on a device that is connected to your network. Enter http://fritz.box or 192.168.178.1 in the address bar. Log in with your device password.

Step 2: Find Call Forwardings

Click on "Telephony" in the menu on the left side and then on "Call handling". Now select the "Call forwarding" tab.

Step 3: Create a New Call Forwarding

Click the "New call forwarding" button to start the setup dialog.

Step 4: Configure the Rule in Detail

Now you set the exact conditions for your forwarding to Safina.

  1. Which calls to forward?

You can define very precisely what should happen here. For example:

    • Calls to a specific phone number of yours.

    • Calls from a specific person in your phonebook.

    • Anonymous calls (callers without caller ID).

  2. Where to forward?

Select the option "Forward calls to target phone number" and enter your personal Safina number here.

  3. Specify the type of forwarding

The Fritz!Box offers you different modes:

    • Immediate: All calls are forwarded directly to Safina without your phone ringing.

    • Delayed: Your phone rings for a duration set by you (e.g., 20 seconds). Only after that does Safina take over.

    • On busy: Safina only takes over when your line is currently busy.

    • Parallel ringing: Your phone and Safina "ring" simultaneously. This method is less common for our use case.

  4. Save: Click "OK" or "Apply" to activate the rule. You can create multiple rules for different scenarios.

Alternative Method: Quick Setup via Dial Code

For quick changes without having to log into the user interface, you can enter these codes directly via a phone connected to the Fritz!Box.

  • Activate immediate forwarding: *21*YOUR_SAFINA_NUMBER#

  • Deactivate immediate forwarding: #21#

  • Activate delayed forwarding: *61*YOUR_SAFINA_NUMBER#

  • Deactivate delayed forwarding: #61#

  • Activate forwarding on busy: *67*YOUR_SAFINA_NUMBER#

  • Deactivate forwarding on busy: #67#

With the granular settings of the Fritz!Box, you can ensure that your call forwarding to Safina is perfectly tailored to your workflow.
